PLOT

The plot revolves around Norma Desmond, a faded star of the silent screen era, living in the past in her decaying mansion on the fabled Los Angeles street. When young screenwriter Joe Gillis accidentally crosses her path, she sees in him an opportunity to make her return to the big screen, with romance and tragedy to follow.

WHY THIS SHOW

This show has had several long runs on Broadway and the West-End but is rarely produced in other venues due to the large size of the show. We are excited to bring this incredible show to life, in concert. Joining the large cast of incredible actors will be a 25 person, on-stage orchestra. Showtunes has the unique ability to do such a large show and realize the music with its original orchestrations.

WHO HAS PLAYED NORMA?

Norma Desmond has been played by Patti Lupone, Glenn Close, Diahann Carroll, Petula Clark, Betty Buckley, Elaine Page and Rita Moreno just to name a few. The role has quite a folklore about it, including a fired actor and a law suit.

Our Norma Desmond: Billie Wildrick

Billie has been seen on stages across the country - NYC/Broadway, Washington DC, the Twin Cities, Sacramento CA, and Sarasota FLA - as well as on her beloved home boards of Seattle where her work has been celebrated with 4 Gregory nominations, a Gregory Award and 3 Footlight Awards. Directing credits include a critically acclaimed production of Annie at The 5th Avenue, Champagne Widow at Café Nordo and Guys and Dolls at Village Theatre. Showtunes audiences will recognize Billie from her role as Margaret in our award winning production of The Light in the Piazza.
